Dr Devesh Ramdhani was born and raised in Durban, Kwa-Zulu Natal and has now established 2 practices in the greater Durban area. He completed his high school at Crawford College where he excelled in academics and sport. Thereafter, Dr Ramdhani pursued a career in medicine and qualified with his MBCHB from the Walter Sisulu University in the Eastern Cape. Not allowing himself to be limited to the medical field, he pushed forward and completed a MBA from Mancosa. He then spent some time in general surgery and swiftly realised he has a passion for finer precision surgery. In 2020, Dr Ramdhani completed his Master’s degree in otorhinolaryngology at the University of the Free State. During that same year, he also graduated with his fellowship examinations in the same field. His special interests cover 2 of the 3 major pillars of ENT practices. The 1st is head and neck with reconstruction and the 2nd, anterior skull base procedures. Currently, he is also completing a qualification in Rhinology and Anterior SkullBase Procedures which is a highly delicate area to work in and also a much needed skill in South Africa.

An ENT specialist will help you with all sorts of problems relating to your ear, nose and throat. However, when do you know that it’s time to go and see one? There are plenty of symptoms and signs to be on the lookout for, and here are five pretty clear indicators that it’s time to see an ENT doctor:

Persistent hearing loss; Sinus pain; Ongoing nasal congestion; A sore throat; Ringing in your ears.
